Green with garden envy
So I peeked over our fence into our neighbors yard yesterday and I have some serious garden envy! Their garden is beautiful! It makes my fledging patch look like a trash heap!
They have flowers, the have palms, they have raised beds of vegetables and fruits. Bet they aren’t renting hmpf!
In pots at the front of my house (have to toddler proof the crop
) the okra and tomatoes are doing very well and the snow peas are starting to climb. Lettuces are doing well in the back patch and the marigolds, new Zealand spinach, cucumbers and more okra are coming along.
Next season I’m going to follow the advie I’ve found in Tropical Fruit Gardens by Leonie Norrington a bit closer and perhaps I’ll have more success in the back patch. I’m going to dig another patch this weekend and in a few weeks time plant watermelon and something else. I’m entertaining the idea of planting pineapples, that would be fun.
Time to move the pots out the front so they don’t destroy the lawn, and put away the laundry, fold more laundry, wash dishes, dry dishes (turn the dishes over
) and do some general cleaning. A mothers work is never done. Just a quick blog this morning, I’m pretty sure my toddler is eating sand!
